War or Peace

War or peace what shall it be?

This question is in the hearts and on the minds of the world  these days and it's brought to our attention by the conflict in the Ukraine and the Middle East. However, this conflict is a reflection of what is going on within us because we, each and every one of us, have taken a side in this conflict.

I am thoughtful of the great novel War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy, in which he says, "You can love a person dear to you with a human love, but an enemy can only be loved with divine love."

Is this not a time for us to go within ourselves and tap into the divinity that we are and use our divine love to create the peace that we are looking for? If we cannot find this peace within ourselves, how can there be  peace from nation to nation let alone from neighbor to neighbor? By being the peace that we are we can create the peace in the world that we live in.

Unconditional love is a solution to this problem. The factions that align for war are those that are determined to maintain control of humanity, they want power over their subservient subjects. Those who advocate for peace recognize the unity of humanity and that each and every one of us is an individuated unit of the divine source with sovereign rights to peace, love and the pursuit of happiness.

The question is what side or fence do you stand on?  Do you stand for loving kindness for brotherhood of man and the expression of individual free will and free choice or do you stand for division and control through the tyrannical use of institutional power as has been the practice of our government leaders?

At its core War and Peace is a book about people trying to find their footing in a world being turned upside down by war, social and political change, and spiritual confusion. Tolstoy argues that the pursuit of material wealth and power at the expense of others is not the way to find happiness and peace.

The message is simple the greatness of a people is defined by goodness and truth, all else is an illusion.
